Red Bull has posted an entertaining video starring Max Verstappen, twice-champion of Formula 1, and his contender Yuki Tsunoda in an unlikely off-road race on an entirely different breed of car.
Both racing drivers are worldwide-famous aces when it comes to piloting racecars with a low gravity center, a curb weight under 800 kilos (1,780 pounds) and a tiny 1.6-liter engine torturing the transmission with 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts) or so. Thanks to their extreme performance, small weight and polished aerodynamics, Formula cars zap from zero to full speed in a twinkling of an eye.
But monster trucks are another thing entirely. They suffer from an extremely high center of gravity and need careful handling to stay the right way up at all times. They also make use of high-displacement engines rated around 500 horsepower (375 kilowatts) and have massive wheels weighing around 700 kilos (1,540 pounds) each.
Do the Formula champions have what it takes to tame the gargantuan trucks? And if so, which one will come out on top? Watch the video!
