VinFast to introduce new EVs in Europe starting in 2022

Vietnam-based automaker VinFast has experienced a major sales growth on its home market and attracted major investments, so its plans to invade Europe next year are to be treated seriously.

The company sold around 30,000 cars in Vietnam last year, thus taking 10% of the market. Fadil, a compact hatchback built on an Opel chassis, was the best-selling model.

In Europe, VinFast says it will bet on the all-electric Lux SA2.0. As you may see, it is a battery-powered modification of the previous-gen BMW X5. Then there is also the Lux A2.0, an electric sedan built based on BMW 5 Series (F10) blueprints.

The company intends to introduce a few new EVs in the coming years as well – not just for Europe, but also for the USA and Canada. To this end, it will be building multiple factories in the Old World and overseas.
