Volkswagen AG will arrive at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show bearing a special edition of its T-Roc SUV, called the R. In the meantime, you may look at the first teaser image featuring the 300-hp (224-kW) strong vehicle.
Unless there are some last-minute changes, the performance SUV will look almost identical to its regular counterpart, save for the restyled lighting, exhaust, larger fenders and air intakes.
It is generally expected that the car will inherit the two-liter gasoline engine of the Golf R, rated at 300 hp (224 kW) or more. The transmission will likely be 7-speed automatic.
According to an earlier announcement, the VW T-Roc R features tweaked suspension and 4Motion AWD.
The T-Roc series debuted in 2017 with a choice between an entry-level three-cylinder engine, a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit rated at 150 hp (112 kW), a hi-end 2.0-liter engine with 190 hp (142 kW), and a diesel unit with 115 hp (86 kW).
