Volkswagen will use the upcoming 2019 Auto Shanghai show to introduce its all-electric crossover/SUV concept called “ID. Roomzz”. The car, which you can see on the picture here, will feature an innovative configurable interior, unique seat profiles, and an SAE Level 4 self-driving system.
Despite the fact that the Shanghai show car is an early prototype, the company promises to bring it into production eventually. China will be the first region to get the car when it arrives in 2021.
According to the manufacturer, the Volkswagen ID. Roomzz is a good example of how it envisions the future of full-size, all-electric SUVs and crossovers.
Reportedly, the vehicle comes based on the MEB platform, sports a rather original interior trim, and offers flexible ambient lighting settings. The specs of its engine remain undisclosed, though.
Over the course of the next 10 years, Volkswagen Group intends to design and produce 70 brand-new, fully electric cars and sell at least 22,000,000 copies of them.
