German automaker Volkswagen announced participation in the race at Mount Pikes Peak. The event will be held on June 24 next year, and only electric vehicles can participate in it. The company plans to complete and unconditional victory of its car.
By the way, Volkswagen engineers pursue purely utilitarian goals. With the help of this race, they want to roll out the technologies that will form the basis for future serial electric and hybrid cars. In particular, the participant of the race will receive innovative batteries. It is interesting that recently Volkswagen officially announced its intention to expand the range of electric vehicles to 23 models by 2025 already.
By the way, last time the Volkswagen car was going up to Pikes Peak in 1987. Then the race involved a 600-horsepower Golf with two engines. True, then the hatchback did not get to the finish.
