The German automotive giant intends to set the best performers of the ID electric car family apart by marking them with the ‘GTX’ model affix.
The company already uses the descriptors GTI, GTD, and GTE to highlight its gas-, diesel-, and hybrid-powered flagships, respectively. The GTX descriptor will be available exclusively to the best vehicles in the all-electric ID range.
The upcoming coupe/SUV based on the VW Crozz Concept (watch the two videos for details) will be the first to get the GTX trim version. The final production version of the car will be called the VW ID.5 GTX. It will pack dual electric motors with so far undisclosed specs.
