Volkswagen has not even properly introduced its all-electric SUV ID.4 based on the MEB platform yet, but the production started this week in Zwickau, Germany.
The announcement is accompanied by teasers partly showing the camo-wrapped vehicle, so don’t bother searching for naked images of the Europe spec. The China spec announced in June, on the other hand, was properly revealed and will later enter production at SAIC-Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen sites.
The Zwickau factory is currently also assembling the ID.3 hatchback, a technologically related model that will later ship to all European countries. Soon the lines should start in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, followed by Dresden next year and eventually Emden and Hannover.
The Volkswagen ID.4 premiere is set for late September.
