Whenever we think the coolest retro campervans have all been catalogued, studied and covered in detail by our colleagues, we invariably stumble upon something previously undiscovered and seemingly out of this world. This campervan, which is currently on sale with the highest bid of $10,000, is a good illustration of the above.
The car is a 1974 Volkswagen T2 reworked by Mexican tuner PaCoMobil. The company built 50 such campers in total, out of which only six are said to have survived to this day.
Based on the pictures provided by the seller, the vehicle is still in respectably good condition. The current owner says he has given it a fresh paint coat and even added a digital display to the dashboard – although the latter seems a bit of an overstatement when you look at the photos.
Powering the car is a 1.6-liter, opposite-cylinder, air-cooled engine rated at 50 hp (37 kW). The transmission is four-speed manual, and the mileage amounts to 90,000 kilometers, or around 56,550 miles.
The living area contains a kitchen sink, a fridge, a WC and several beds, among other things.
