Volkswagen became the new leader of world car markets

Toyota Volkswagen ceded the title of world's largest automaker. During the year, the Japanese automobile concern sold 10 million 175 thousand cars worldwide. Though this indicator was 0,2% higher, than those one of German Volkswagen in 2015, which showed the growth even in 3,8%, sales reached a point of 10 million 310 thousand cars. Thus, Volkswagen AG cars became the most sold in the world, having displaced in the ratin row from the first line Toyota's products, which were  in the lead about 5 years.

Toyota's indicators were not such high because of the delay of growth rates on cars in China and the weakening of interest of the American consumer to Camry sedan. And it is unlikely that the affairs of the Japanese company in the USA will go better this year, considering assumption for the post of president, who is standing up for the internal production of the businessman Donald Trump.

The Volkswagen AG includes such brands as Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Skoda, Seat and others. It should be noted that the growth of sales of the German carmaker happened against the background of "diesel scandal", as a result of which the general size of the penalties, applied to the company by the authorities of the United States, reached the sum of $1 billion. At the same time, Volkswagen could support a great demand on its cars in such key markets as Europe and China.

The group of Renault-Nissan companies won the third position in in the rating of the leaders of world car markets , it sold 8,5 million cars in 2016. On the fourth and fifth places there were Hyundai — KIA and General Motors respectively.
