The Volkswagen Taigo is a coupe-like, compact-sized crossover SUV based on the Nivus model available in Latin American countries and scheduled for premiere in the coming summer. Sales should begin next year.
LED headlights, an all-digital driver’s cockpit and an extensive assistance package are going to be included in the base trim level. VW promises a selection of “economical petrol engines”, most likely referring to three-cylinder ones.
The car will share its MQB-A0 modular architecture with the Volkswagen Polo and T-Cross, which means it will have native AWD in all versions.
The Nivus donor (see video) is available across Latin America with six airbags, an electronic diff lock, adaptive cruise control, and a reversing camera.
