Photos of an elderly Volkswagen bus converted into an RV by Australian tuner Retro RV have recently cropped up online. Apparently, the company doesn’t just build such campers, but also offers interested parties a rental franchise – and it seems there are plenty who are interested.
Tuners take old and battered VW buses and restore them to serve as motorhomes for two people. The cars are spacious and come with all modern amenities, including a large living room with a kitchen sink, a fridge, and storage niches. The pics don’t show it, but a WC and a sleeping area are also present.
The exterior retains its retro looks, while the powertrain benefits from a full overhaul based on Subaru engine and transmission, as well as upgraded brakes, suspension and steering.
Those who would rather get an RV for a family of four are in luck, too, because Retro RV will be offering such an option soon.
