Volkswagen ID Buzz spotted testing in production body

Pics of a fully electrical Volkswagen ID Buzz in what looks like its final production body have been spreading like wildfire this weekend, even though the car is still wrapped in deceiving camo.

We suppose that the round anti-fog lamps you see on the photos are fake, as is the radiator grille. The lower grille with its honeycomb pattern looks production-ready, though.

The chrome strip running across the front fascia may be concealing a LED bar between the headlights. The rear window is completely opaque, prompting an assumption that it is the commercial van version of ID Buzz. Then again, nothing can be said with complete certainty.

According to Volkswagen, the van will debut in 2022 and ship across all of Europe. The passenger version will make it overseas to North America in 2023.

Customers will be able to choose between one and two electric motors (RWD and AWD, respectively). The MEB architecture used supports powertrains rated up to 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW).
