The German car company Volkswagen has made it official that their newest all-electric minivan Moia gets a self-driving system by Aurora which should completely eliminate the need for a human driver.
The car, which enjoyed its motor show premiere in late 2017, may become the world’s first completely autonomous vehicle on the market. Despite repeated claims to the above made by the manufacturer, its actual release date remains unknown.
Aurora is a startup company which is dedicated to developing self-driving car solutions and is currently joining efforts with several major automotive companies over the world. Engineers at Aurora routinely use an Audi Q7 to test their latest self-driving equipment and software.
Hyundai is another car manufacturer actively pursuing cooperation with Aurora. The South Korean automotive giant hopes to release its first full-fledged autonomous vehicle in early 2020s.
