Volkswagen announces the end of a downsizing

The head of Volkswagen concern Herbert Diess declared, that the trend on reduction of a working volume of engines had passed. According to his words, similar measures don't help to reduce the amount of harmful emissions. In reality, but not during special tests, blowouts of harmful substances only grow with reduction of engine displacement of internal combustion. It, in turn, indicates imperfection of techniques of certified tests.

In reality, not for special tests, the emission of harmful substances only increase with a decrease in volume of the internal combustion engine. This, in turn, points to the imperfection of certification testing procedures.

Against the background of such statements, experts wait that new engines will now be produced with a large swept volume, and the increase will amount to 25-30 percent.

The new trend was set anyway by the leading global car makers. It is supposed, that the turbo-supercharging from motors won't disappear. Diess also noted that 1.0 TSI was rather good engine, and Volkswagen will continue to equip with it the models. But on assurances of the head of carmaker, under a cowl their cars will have no motors of smaller volume.

Diess also noted that the 1.0 TSI engine was good enough, and Volkswagen will continue to equip their models with it. But under the hood, their cars will have smaller volume engines, according to the assurances of the head of the automaker.
