4 cylinders and 2,000+ horses: here’s a racing engine like no other

A team of racing pros from Brazil came up with a stunning and unique flat-four engine design capable of mind-blowing levels of performance thanks to cascaded turbos and a purpose-built fuel system.

The mill was built for drag racing purposes based on a 3.5-liter Volkswagen block. Most of the power is achieved thanks to an 88mm Precision turbocharger powering a second, 106mm turbine booster. This unconventional arrangement enables the engine to rev up to insane RPM counts within seconds from the launch. Numerous FuelTech USA internals contribute towards making it the world’s strongest of its kind.

When tested at a dyno stand, the unit had no trouble at all pumping out a steady 2,058 PS (2,030 hp / 1,513 kW). We are looking forward to seeing it set some impressive quarter-mile records.
