A five-seat version of the Volkswagen Atlas – an SUV model particularly popular in the U.S.A. – will debut before the wide audience at the New York International Auto Show starting on March 30, 2018.
Looking at the first sketch of the new Volkswagen Atlas revealed by the manufacturer on its official website, it seems that the car has changed quite a bit. For one thing, it is considerably more compact than its seven-seat, more than five-meter long counterpart.
Even though the vehicle to be exhibited at the New York show is technically a prototype and not a mass-produced model, the manufacturer confirms that production will launch in the nearest future.
According to some preliminary data, the engine lineup of the new five-seat Volkswagen Atlas will also incorporate the engines that its seven-seat variant ships with: the 2.0 TSI and the atmospheric 3.6 VR6.
