After a long and tedious period of waiting, the fans of the Volkswagen brand may finally throw a glance at the brand-new Atlas Cross Sport Concept five-seat SUV exhibited at the New York International Auto Show opening for the public on March 30, 2018.
The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Concept boasts a sporty overall appearance and has massive headlamps, huge 22-inch wheels, large wheel wells, and a rear spoiler.
The interior of the car is modern and laconic. There is an all-digital instrument panel and an up-to-date infotainment system, as well as a whole range of features dedicated to steering assistance and safety.
The new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Concept relies on a hybrid powertrain to propel it forward. There is a 3.6-liter gasoline engine with 267 hp (200 kW) and a couple of electric motors adding further 54 hp (40 kW) and 114 hp (85 kW). Official estimates say it can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.4 seconds and ultimately reach 209 km/h (130 mph).
The car should make it into production next year.
