The VW ID.Unyx is a coupe-like battery SUV for China

Volkswagen has unveiled its latest EV – the ID.Unyx. It is destined to evolve into a whole lineup of Unyx-badged cars, with the company saying there will be five models in total.

We have already seen the exterior photos of the coupe-shaped SUV courtesy of the company’s branch office in China, but the interior shots have only been released now. It looks like the ID.Unyx has more or less the same cabin as most other EVs produced by the corporation recently – with an important twist.

Being targeted towards the younger and more active audiences, the SUV features a flexibly configurable, AI-powered 3D mascot. Users will be able to select the voice profile they like and get real-time info about the internals of the car.

For the baseline spec, the electric car will utilize a single e-motor rated at 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW). It will get up to 621 km (386 miles) of CLTC-rated range out of its 77-kWh battery pack. A dual-motor AWD spec with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) is slated for release at a later date.

Designed by the Volkswagen R&D headquarters in Hefei in eastern China, the ID.Unyx will go into production at the same industrial complex.
