Volkswagen ID.Unyx goes on sale in China

Volkswagen has disclosed all pricing details for the ID.Unyx – an all-electric coupe/SUV designed specifically for the Chinese domestic market. It starts from 204,900 Yuan and goes up to 249,900 Yuan in the top trim.

The ID.Unyx is sized 4,663 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,610 mm tall with 2,766 mm between the axles (that’s roughly 182 x 73 x 63 inches with 108 inches of wheelbase). It takes advantage of the company’s latest design language formulated specifically for the ID lineup. Banked as a car for younger and more socially active dwellers of big cities, it comes strewn with golden trim accents on the outside and inside.

Matrix LED headlights, two dash displays sized 5.3” and 15”, 12-way adjustable power seats, two wireless phone chargers and up to nine airbags are included in the spec. Numerous assist features, such as self-parking, are available for a premium.

According to AutoHome.cn, the low-end version uses a single electric motor rated at 231 PS (228 hp / 170 kW). It is worth mentioning that Volkswagen had promised us 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) in the base spec. The top spec utilizes dual motors and has 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) at its disposal. An 82.4-kWh traction battery can deliver between 565 and 621 km (351–385 miles) of range, depending on other parameters.

It looks like a middle-ground spec may be coming to the market in the near future.
