German company Volkswagen showed new Sedric concept car, which became the first electrical car of a brand with the autopilot. Representing the innovation, Germans directly declared that they would do their best to become a world leader in the field of self-driving cars.
Sedric concept is an electric car connected to the Internet. In the iterior there are no standard control elements (a steering wheel, pedals, levers) — the car has the highest, fifth level of autonomy. You won't even find the special place for "driver" in the car interior . In order that the car start movement, it is necessary to call it by pressing the button on the keyfob, and then set the destination, for which the voice control is provided.Moreover, if any adjustments of a route on the way are required, passengers will be able to make them with the same voice commands. On the way the electric car will entertain you with a huge OLED screen, which role is played by the windshield. There will be output from the entertainment system, as well as useful information about the details of the trip.
The car is assembled on the MEB platform. The equipment includes a 136-horsepower electric motor, standard sensors for self-driving cars with LIDAR and seven cameras. It is noted that without additional recharging the power reserve of the novelty will be about 400 km.
