Volkswagen has admitted getting into a fight with the U.S.-based United Auto Workers union (UAW) after downgrading its factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee from three to just two work shifts.
The cost-saving move saw many factory workers facing major income cuts or downright unemployment. Union representatives responded by calling the company’s actions “unacceptable and anti-American.”
President Donald Trump has been informed about the incident. We will see how the story develops.
