The North American subdivision of Volkswagen AG has come to the 2018 European Experience car show by SoWo with as many as five new concepts based on mass-production vehicles. Some of these were developed with active participation on behalf of VW fans.
Four out of the five concept cars share the same kind of flashy fluorescent-yellow body film.
The first entry, named Golf R Abstract, is a ‘hot hatch’ that flaunts a set of 20” ABT Sportline wheels and features H&R Springs suspension for 25 mm (1”) less road clearance. It comes wrapped in camouflage film and sports stylish matte exhaust pipes alongside a sleek aerodynamic body kit. On the inside, there is a carbon steering wheel with some nice light blue stitching.
The next vehicle is called SoCal and uses the Jetta R-Line as its base. It comes with fluorescent-yellow roof and side mirror housings juxtaposed against foam-white wheels bearing occasional yellow highlights. It also features the ST XTA suspension system by KW, which enables it to ride 75 mm lower than its predecessor model.
The Tiguan R-Line Aero crossover wears a film with a black square pattern and carries a matching roof rack. This one comes with adjustable air suspension, a set of 20” powder-sprayed black wheels and an original overall design.
The fourth one is a liftback model named Arteon R-Line Highlight. The car also has adjustable suspension, 20-inch wheels and fluorescent-yellow body film. Its interior makes use of a variety of glossy black and chrome-coated details.
The last show car is the Atlas Tanner Foust SEMA CUV. Equipped with giant off-road wheels, broader wheel arches, guard plates, additional LED lights on the front bumper and the roof, and a full-fledged expedition roof rack with a ladder, this one is surely dressed to impress.
Volkswagen declined comment on the future of these five concept cars, or whether any of them may eventually enjoy a series release.
