Volkswagen unveils the all-new T-Cross SUV

Volkswagen AG has revealed the first teaser image showing its all-new crossover SUV, the T-Cross. The vehicle will premiere in 4Q2018 and compete with the Renault Captur, Opel Mokka and Peugeot 2008 for the same market segment.

The photo only shows the rear part of the car, but this is still enough to see that it takes a lot after the VW T-Cross Breeze Concept demonstrated two years ago.

According to the manufacturer, the upcoming SUV will be 4,107 millimeters (13’ 6”) long. This likely means that it will be marketed as a more affordable alternative of the T-Roc.

The vehicle will be based on the MQB A0 platform of Seat Arona. This leads to an implication that it might ship with the same assortment of engines, namely, three-cylinder turbo gasoline engines rated between 95 and 110 hp (71 – 82 kW) and 1.6-liter diesel engines with the same power output. Higher trims may be expected to get a 150hp / 112kW strong engine.

Base equipment will include lane control and emergency brake.

The prices for the new Volkswagen T-Cross series are still pending.
