New Volkswagen T-Cross proved too small for the USA

Senior manager of Volkswagen, Andreas Krueger, said earlier today that the new Volkswagen T-Cross compact SUV was “too small for Canada and the USA”. The CEO of VW North America had previously entertained the possibility of domestic release.

According to a heads-up from the car manufacturer, the T-Cross will go on sale in Europe starting this fall, followed by India, China, and South America. North America will be left out, unfortunately.

The new Volkswagen T-Cross utilizes the MQB A0 architecture of VW Polo. Despite its humble dimensions, it is actually spacious enough for both the front and the rear passengers.

There will be three engines to choose from: a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine with 95 hp (71 kW), a 1.5L V4 with 130 hp (97 kW) and a 1.6L turbo diesel with 105 hp (78 kW). As a matter of fact, this is exactly what the Volkswagen Polo currently ships with.
