New photos featuring a production-ready copy of Volkswagen Tayron have lately been uploaded to the data bank of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and IT. The car is already in production and will go on sale later this year.
The exterior appearance of the vehicle is completely identical to that of the Advanced Mid-Size SUV Concept introduced this spring.
The car uses the MQB platform as base and is 4,589 mm (15.06 ft.) long, 1,860 mm (6.1 ft.) wide and 1,660 mm (5.45 ft.) tall.
The equipment list includes LED lighting, a panoramic roof, and exclusive wheels 17 to 19 inches large. The R-Line trim comes with a different bumper design and twin exhaust pipes.
The five-seat Volkswagen Tayron will enter the market powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine capable of between 186 and 220 hp (139 – 164 kW). It will take advantage of a seven-speed semi-automatic transmission and 4WD (optional).
Prices are still unknown.
