After announcing the Volkswagen Arteon R liftback and shooting brake last summer, the German manufacturer has finally launched both models in Europe.
Power is provided by an EA888 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. Coupled with a 7-speed DSG transmission, it takes the cars from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph). You can pay to raise the speed limiter to 270 km/h (167 mph).
4Motion AWD has been configured to send up to a half of the total torque to the rear axle. Included in the standard spec are Golf R torque vectoring, Race Mode, DCC electronic shocks, large brakes, ACC, power tailgate, and LED lights.
The seats inside come wrapped in microfleece by default, and you can get leather upholstery and integrated headrests at a premium. The dashboard is digital, the ambient lighting supports 13 color modes, and the steering wheel boasts sensor controls. Paid extras include a three-zone HVAC, a 9.2-inch touchscreen display, and Harman Kardon audio.
Customers in Germany can buy the liftback version starting from €63,095 and the shooting brake version from €63,980.
