Volkswagen Beetle eats steroids, becomes Huge Bug

Tuppers – a father and son from the USA – have caused quite a stir in the car tuning community when they took a 1959 Volkswagen Beetle and bloated it to 40% larger dimensions on every axis. The duo lovingly refers to the Hummer-sized monstrosity as “Huge Bug”.

According to the Tuppers, the reasoning behind the project was trivial: they were getting seriously fed up with other drivers being mean and disrespectful to them in traffic. They had originally wanted to inflate their Beetle to exactly +50% length, width and height, but soon realized it would simply cease to be street-legal, so they settled at +40%.

With a 5.7-liter Dodge Magnum V8 pumping power to the wheels, the insectoid monstrosity has plenty of strength to stand for itself. The chassis is also that of the Dodge pickup, modified to fit the Beetle bodywork. The cabin stays as true to the original car as possible while gaining such modern niceties as power windows, heated/ventilated seats, and others.

The Huge Bug has already attracted enough attention for people to queue up asking how much it costs. The Tuppers, however, said they were positively not parting with it anytime soon.
