Volkswagen continues China premieres with next-gen Bora sedan

The German automotive giant Volkswagen AG keeps updating its model palette in China. The most recent announcement concerns the next generation of the Bora compact sedan series which used to be sold in Europe a while ago.

The enterprise will utilize the FAW-Volkswagen works in China to assemble the next VW Bora series. Just like all latest releases of the German brand, the new vehicle will be based on the MQB chassis. It is going to be over 4,660 mm (15.3 ft) long and have 2,688 mm (8.82 ft) of axle spacing.

The interior trimming looks stylish and modern, and includes a sensor-enabled infotainment system, a rear view camera, parking assistance, a start/stop system, a panoramic roof and leather draping. Advanced as the equipment package is, it is notably missing the digital dashboard.

The new Volkswagen Bora will ship with a 1.4 TSI turbocharged engine good for 150 hp (112 kW) and a 1.5 naturally-aspirated engine with 116 hp (87 kW). Manual, automatic and DSG will all be selectable.

Prices and exact specifications will be revealed closer to the sales launch date.
