Volkswagen e-Crafter enters production in Poland

Volkswagen has started assembling its fully electric van model, e-Crafter, in Września, Poland.

The German automotive giant used to produce e-rafter components in Poland and assemble them in Hannover, but eventually switched to using a single location to cut costs across the boards and increase production volume.

The factory will now process multiple different trim levels of the e-Crafter synchronously to achieve the target 1,200 units per year this year and 1,400 units the next one.

In case you didn’t remember, the van comes powered by a single 135-PS (100-kilowatt) electric motor and a battery sufficient for 160 kilometers (99 miles) of range.
