The eighth generation of Volkswagen Golf is slowly, but steadily nearing its premiere. The car will ship with a modular infotainment system (MIB), a gear switch like in the VW Touareg, a HUD with AR support, and voice control.
There will also be a GTI trim available, likely coming with a two-liter engine capable of over 300 hp (224 kW). A sizable boost compared to the current generation’s 245 hp / 183 kW, but what should we do if we don’t want to wait?
The answer is go to German tuner APR Deutschland for an engine boost kit, which includes a new intercooler, an aluminum inlet pipe, a two-part air intake system and a sport-grade exhaust system. Once done, the upgrade brings the performance of the normally unassuming VW Golf to the impressive 330 hp (246 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb×ft) of torque.
The tuning house didn’t disclose any acceleration-related figures, but mentioned that the car should sprint faster than the high-end Volkswagen Golf R.
Optionally available is a set of 19-inch wheels clad in Pirelli P Zero tires.
