Volkswagen Golf Mk2 gets 1,300 hp, hits 333.33 km/h

The team of SpeedMakers Bogtland has done the impossible. The tuners managed to boost the second-generation Volkswagen Golf to 1,300 horsepower (969 kW) and subsequently get it going at 333.33 km/h (207.12 mph) on a half-mile stretch. Feeling nauseous yet? Breathe deeply.

The exterior of the car remains almost completely stock, except for a custom set of tires and a couple of minor details. On the inside, it houses an all-wheel-drive system and 1,300 hp of raw power.

Once upgraded, the car has run the ½-mile drag streak in mere 17.3 seconds, accelerating to 333.33 km/h (207.12 mph) as it did so.

Looks like the sleeper car has every chance to beat the Ferrari 488 GTB, the Lamborghini Aventador or perhaps even the McLaren 720S.
