If you have been following the premieres of the SEMA Motor Show in Las-Vegas, chances are high you remembered this restored second-gen Volkswagen Golf GTi.
Kraftwerk Auto Inc. carried out the project in partnership with Liqui Moly USA. The body of the car received a custom film wrapping and a Pandem Rocketbunny body kit. The vehicle sits on goldish-tinted chromed Rotiform wheels and a Scale coilover suspension kit.
The car ditches its original engine for a modern 3.2-liter V6 turbo rated at 650 hp (485 kW). To achieve this, the engineers had to replace virtually all major drivetrain components with their performance-oriented counterparts.
To help the car cope with the surplus power, it gained Wilwood brakes with red supports.
The interior of the old VW Golf GTI by Kraftwerk Auto sports a modern dashboard, an OMP sports steering wheel, bucket seats with Schroth safety belts and other features needed for participation in rallies.
