There’s no denying that the Toyota Supra is extremely popular among the fans of the Japanese car marque. It can even take on some hypercars with enough tuning.
Consider this fourth-generation Supra, which comes off the assembly line equipped with a 3.0-liter inline 6 engine. A fair bit of tweaking brought it to a stellar 990 PS (or 976 horsepower, or 728 kilowatts). Now, who’s feeling confident enough to tackle this indomitable track monster?
An aging Volkswagen Golf Mk5 (R32), apparently! You may laugh, but the Golf R is one hell of a sleeper car. Initially packing a 3.2-liter VR6 engine with only 250 PS (146 hp / 184 kW) at its disposal, this particular Golf ascended to 980 PS (966 hp / 721 kW) after a bit of tuning. That’s a hypercar-worthy level of performance, mind you.
