While Volkswagen AG is busy getting the eighth generation of its Golf R performance hatchback ready for production, Japanese car tuner Varis tells us with its freshly released body kit that the current generation is also nowhere near old-fashioned. Let us have a closer look!
The sporty version of the Golf gets a completely restyled hood cover with a powerdome in the middle, a front spoiler, side canards, side skirts (optional), a roof spoiler, a modest-sized rear spoiler lip, and a massive rear diffuser. All components are made with carbon fiber.
The Varis take on the Volkswagen Golf R boasts an Armytrix sports exhaust system and a set of Volk Racing TE37-SAGA wheels with a Gunmetal Grey finish wrapped in Bridgestone RE-71R tires. It also rides on KW Suspensions coilovers, which allows for variable ground clearance.
This particular Volkswagen Golf R also has Recaro bucket seats with improved lateral support installed.
