Do you know what happens when a talented tuner gets his hands on a sleeper car? He turns it into a ridiculous improvised supercar, that’s what!
This fourth-gen Volkswagen Golf R32 didn’t escape that fate, either. The hot hatch started its life sending up to 241 hp (180 kW) along with 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels, which enabled it to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.4 seconds.
After an exhaustive tuning that left no metaphorical stone unturned, it skyrocketed to unbelievable 1,150 Nm (858 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. The power thus rose by a whopping 477%, and the torque by 375%.
In the end, the Golf Mk.4 proved capable of doing a half mile in 17 seconds flat and accelerating to 305.3 km/h (189.7 mph) in the process.
