Volkswagen will be launching many great and promising cars in 2020, including the Golf GTI, TCR, and R. No specs have been revealed to date, but we have a source claiming inside knowledge of the company’s affairs.
According to it, the Golf GTI will arrive packing a two-liter turbo engine rated close to 232 hp (173 kW), assisted by a 48-volt starter. Customers will be able to choose between six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT for the transmission.
The GTI TCR will allegedly have the same displacement volume and mild-hybrid add-on, but it will churn out 286 hp (213 kW). Aside from the extra pull, it will get a limited-slip rear differential, high-end brakes, larger wheels, and a lower ride height.
The Golf R will occupy the topmost position with its 328-hp (245-kW) mild-hybrid drivetrain and 7-G DCT.
