Volkswagen shows the redesigned 2018 Golf GTI TCR

The German car giant VW Group has brought its latest 2018 Golf GTI TCR to the Essen Motor Show currently open in Essen, Germany. The vehicle will take part in the TCR International Racing Series.

It should be noted that the racing modification of the car is 400 millimeters (~15,6 inches) wider than its standard counterpart. The new Golf GTI TCR features an aerodynamic body kit which significantly improves its downforce. A turbocharged 2.0-liter engine capable of 345 horsepower with 420 Nm torque sits under the hood of the redesigned car, enabling it to bolt to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 5.2 seconds.

By the way, the previous year model of Golf GTI TCR has won the VLN Endurance Race in Nürburgring, Germany in the TSR category.
