The VW Golf Mk8 wagon, which debuted in early fall last year, will be getting a performance version in the coming weeks, complete with such features as AWD and Drift Mode. The latest spy shots reveal it almost completely.
In fact, the R badge on the tailgate is the only thing hidden from view. Other than that, the family hauler is coming to the market with the same 320-PS (316-hp / 235-kW) engine as its hatchback cousin, which means it should hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in around 4.7 seconds. On the plus side, it will offer much more trunk space than the hot hatch ever did.
You can currently buy the Golf R in Germany starting from €49,260. The optional R-Performance package will set you back another €2,265.
