The Mk7 Golf is still a perfectly capable hatchback that sells well worldwide, but it just doesn’t look as fresh anymore next to the Mk8. Aftermarket wheel shop Barracuda and tuning parts supplier JMS have come up with a solution to keep it relevant.
The five-door car pictured here rides on a set of Barracuda Shoxx dual-five-spoke alloys sporting a vaguely JDM look. The manufacturer offers the rim in sizes from 18 to 20 inches, and the one installed here is the 19-inch version, although it looks a size larger than that thanks to arched spokes.
Then there are nice tires with ‘racelook.hr’ written on the sidewalls in white, and a set of Eibach lowering springs dropping the clearance by around 40 millimeters (1.6 inches). No other notable modifications can be seen, but what little is there goes a long way towards freshening up the Mk7 Golf aesthetic.
