The Volkswagen Golf counts among best-selling cars in the entire world. The Golf family comes in a variety of implementations, including several performance ones. Nonetheless, car tuners often complain that even the best of these lack in the engine power department. Two tuning ateliers, SAR-Turbotechnik and MTR-Performance, joined efforts to address this exact issue.
They removed the stock engine of the car and put a turbocharged, five-cylinder, 400hp / 300kW strong Audi RS3 motor in its place. They proceeded to boost the engine to 600 hp / 450 kW by replacing the turbochargers and reworking injection and exhaust.
Driven by the new engine, the Volkswagen Golf accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in mere 3 seconds and finishes the half-mile drag streak in 18s.
Aside from the above, SAR-Turbotechnik and MTR-Performance outfitted the car with an exclusive OZ Racing wheel set.
