Someone at ABT Sportsline must have decided that 315 PS (311 hp / 232 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) was too tame for the latest Mk8 Golf R, so an upgrade kit was announced.
A relatively simple software tune persuades the two-liter turbo four-pot of the German hot hatch to pump out 384 PS (379 hp / 282 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. The stock Golf manages its standard 0-100 km/h acceleration routine in 4.7 seconds, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the ABT-tuned version to manage the same in barely over four seconds. The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S and the Audi RS3 come closest to it in terms of performance.
The display car also boasts gloss-black ABT wheels and stylish vinyl graphics on its wide c-pillars.
