Leather, carbon and 560 PS: The VW Golf 7 R Variant is delightfully extreme

German tune-up shop PS-Sattlerei has unveiled a one-off take on the Mk7 Volkswagen Golf R, which it called the Variant. The car produces fantastic amounts of thrust and boasts a tastefully remade interior.

Starting with the engine, it is still the stock 2.0-liter turbo-four mill normally rated at 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. However, the addition of HGP-branded performance components makes it pump out crazy 560 PS (552 hp / 412 kW). An appropriately loud exhaust system by the same brand eliminates the chance of going unnoticed on the road, while Audi RS 3 brakes ensure adequate control.

Further adding to the sportiness of the car is an extensive body kit consisting of side skirts, mirror caps, rear bumper and diffuser add-ons, a roof spoiler, and a few more carbon-trimmed parts. Black OZ Ultraleggera HLT alloys wrapped in Hankook tires reside in the arches, and KW coilovers are used to reduce ground clearance.

The interior of the badass Golf is every bit as impressive as the exterior, with leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber and metal used abundantly throughout. Everything is either black or blue, because PS-Sattlerei went through the pain of repainting all stock silver accents blue.

The associated costs have not been mentioned.
