It is not a secret by any stretch that power no longer decides the winner in drag racing. YouTuber RSRNurburg illustrates this principle well with their latest video pitting a BMW M2 and M4, both Competition spec, against a tuned previous-gen Golf R.
The hot hatch usually has 300 horses under the hood, but a tuner shop named Revo raised the output of this particular example to 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW). Both Bavarian cars are still fairly more powerful, and the M4 packs a swift DCT box instead of manual. On the upside, the Golf weighs around 200 kilos (440 lbs) less than both of its rivals and benefits from AWD, whereas the M2 and M4 are both RWD.
