The Golf R hot hatch has never been hotter than the new 333 Limited Edition. It comes preloaded with premium features, sports a distinct look and packs a cool €18,500 premium over the Golf R Performance spec it is based on.
The exterior is finished in Lime Yellow with black accents and exclusive graphics. Also black are 19-inch Estoril wheels wearing semi-slicks. The exhaust system is sourced off the Akrapovič shelf.
Inside, there are sport seats in Nappa leather and carbon-fiber trims all around. For the first time in the history of the Golf model, this one actually comes with a serial number plaque. Matrix LED headlights, nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio and a slew of driving aids are also included as standard.
Power comes from the standard 2.0-liter turbo engine of the Golf R Performance, which means 333 PS (328 hp / 245 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). Hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) is a matter of 4.6 seconds and the top speed is capped at 270 km/h (167 mph). Standard features include torque vectoring and drive mode selection with a preset called ‘Nürburgring’.
Only 333 units will be made. Reservations will be accepted starting tomorrow, June 2, and the first deliveries are scheduled for October. The starting price of €76,410 dwarfs the R Performance’s €57,985.
