Updated photos of the Volkswagen ID.3 have been posted online, and it looks like the car is a sporty GTX spec that hadn’t been sighted on the roads before.
The prototype looks like a normal ID.3 EV facelift from early 2023, but a closer look reveals new details. For one, it rides noticeably lower than the standard car. For another, the front fascia wears a new mesh pattern – the same as the previously introduced GTX editions of the ID.4 and ID.5 (see video).
Volkswagen is using smart camo here as well: strategically applied decals help conceal actual details. In particular, the corner vents and the front and the cutout in the rear bumper are masked in this manner. The rear end seems to have a large sparse mesh where the sticker is.
The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX is expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
