Back in 2010, Volkswagen aired a viral advertisement aiming to show how durable and reliable its cars were. Rewind to the present day, and the story of the Grandma Racer continues in another video starring an all-electric ID.4 GTX.
You can find both vids enclosed right here. In the first one, a father and a son meet with an elderly woman regarding her old Volkswagen Golf. They carefully inspect it and ultimately agree to buy, oblivious to the fact that the granny was a big fan of street racing.
In the second episode, the granny grows nostalgic about the Golf and pays a visit to the local dealership – only to fall in love with the all-electric ID.4 GTX. During a brief test drive, it is revealed that her driving manner and preferences haven’t changed a bit – who wouldn’t like to cook up some drift donuts in a premium EV, right?
