Stretched Volkswagen ID.Buzz shows up in a teaser photo

Volkswagen has shared the first image of the upcoming long-wheelbase version of the ID.Buzz. The electric van will officially debut on June 2, likely offering more passenger room along with other improvements.

The image shows the front fascia of the van. Lifting shadows in a photo editor reveals additional details – check out the second image in our gallery below.

The manufacturer still hasn’t published any more data. Based on the photos alone, the van will be styled in the same vein with the original (see the video) with similar-looking headlights, DRLs and front bumper.

Unofficial reports are saying that the LWB version will be 250 mm (10 inches) longer than standard and come equipped with a third seat row. All seats except for the front ones will reportedly be removable. Last but not least, rumor has it the LWB version may ship with two electric motors instead of one – something that the standard ID.Buzz doesn’t offer at the moment.

The United States will become the primary market for the new version. The standard van is currently only offered in Europe.
