Visitors to the official website of the German car manufacturer Volkswagen may now have a look at the first photo of the latest, seventh-generation Jetta sedan. Technical specifications are only available upon registration. Official premiere is scheduled for the North American International Car Show in Detroit, U.S.A. in January 2018.
The new Volkswagen Jetta is based on the MQB modular platform widely employed by the German manufacturer. Despite the somewhat larger dimensions, the new model of the four-door sedan weighs less than its predecessor.
According to official sources, buyers will be offered a “sporty” R-Line version of the car in addition to the basic version. A dedicated sports sedan Jetta GLI should be released to the market approximately a year later. There is still no information as to what kind of engines to expect.
