MQB platform officially confirmed for the VW T7 Multivan

Would you agree that Volkswagen is taking its precious time drawing endless teaser pics of the T7? Well, here’s another teaser pic you’ve been so eager to see.

Earlier rumors claimed that the van would make a switch to the MQB unitized platform and transverse engine mount, and the latest video finally confirms it. It also mentions that the Multivan will be getting a longer wheelbase than the current T6.1, along with an opportunity to maximize the interior space by ordering a version that suits you best. Removing the manual gearbox and the handbrake will also free up some cabin room.

Interestingly enough, the latest sketch reveals an additional window built into the A-pillar to improve visibility. The original T1 that came out in 1950 had a similar window, and it was only dropped from production 25 years later.

The new van should hit the spotlight in a month or so, so the waiting is nearly over.
