This VW Beetle looks like a way easier sale than the stock version

Volkswagen began the resurrection of the iconic Beetle series as long ago as 1997. The New Beetle (9C) was in production until 2011, then 5C came to replace it, but neither could boast the record-breaking sales numbers of its predecessor. Maybe the remake wasn’t just bold enough? This is the first thing that comes to mind when you look at this HPA Motorsports 9C Beetle.

The urban car rides on HRE Performance RS105M forged wheels measuring 19 inches on diameter. The rims are wrapped in Michelin PS4 tires and benefit from KW Clubsport height-adjustable springs.

The exhaust system here is an original design custom-made for the model, and the brake calipers are six-piston in the front and four-piston in the back. Naturally, this is not just for show, either.

HPA Motorsports gives the stock 3.2-liter, six-cylinder engine a boost to 705 hp (526 kW) and 1,084 kW (800 lb-ft) of torque, thus surpassing the performance of the entry-level 9C Beetle by a factor of seven.

Rounding off the list are several cabin upgrades, such as a roll cage instead of the rear seat row and carbon/Kevlar bucket seats up front.
